Rx: Pets
Be a part of the Prescription, the Rx: Pets prescription. Join in on the reading fun! Rx: Pets has expanded their community efforts to include the highly successful R.E.A.D.® Program (Reading Education Assistance Dogs), designed by Intermountain Therapy Animals in Salt Lake City, Utah. The R.E.A.D.® program helps improve the literacy skills of children and especially assists with self-esteem issues or learning challenges. Reading to a dog is non-judgmental and so much fun!
Events
Rx: Pets SOLD OUT the Riverfront Playhouse on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 6:30 pm. The community will enjoy a light dinner, raffle, prizes and the Broadway and movie classic “Cheaper by the Dozen”. This annual event contributes to sustaining the Prescription: Pets vision. Your generosity ensures continued success.

Become an Rx: Pets Team! Rx: Pets regularly conducts the Delta Society ® Pet Partner Workshops and the Delta Society ® Skill and Aptitude Evaluations. Additionally, Rx: Pets offers coaching sessions for the animal-handler teams, a mentor for each new visiting team, an annual volunteer recognition celebration and volunteer growth through continuing education and pet training.
