Rx: Pets Pet Partner Workshop

Thank you for your interest in Rx: Pets, Delta Society® Pet Partner ® Workshop. Rx: Pets is a Northern California non-profit, all volunteer, visiting animal group celebrating 11 years of service to the north state community. Attached is the workshop flier for registration and information for our next course and the basic instructions to prepare for a workshop or home study.

Rx: Pets volunteers participate in Animal Assisted Interactions such as visiting patients in the local hospitals and care homes. We also R.E.A.D. ® at the Redding Library (3rd Saturday of the month, 1-3 pm at Redding Children’s Library), where the children READ to the dogs and at local schools.

Please follow the directions on the flier page two to register for the class. PRE-REGISTRATION is required as classes.

Rx: Pets membership requirements are you and your Pet Partner will select an Rx: Pets facility and visit a minimum of once a month upon completion of your mentoring.

Pet Partner requirements include dogs and cats must be one year old and in your home for six months. Children must be over 10 years to be a Pet Partner.

Rx: Pets recommends recent group (or multiple) obedience course for you and your dog prior to the Pet Partner® course as the final step of the process is an evaluation scheduled after the workshop and renewed every 2 years.

An alternative to the workshop is to purchase the Pet Partner Team Training Course manual for home study at www.deltasociety.org or mikeb@deltasociety.org or 425-679-5518. Once the test in the back of the book is complete please let me know and I will send the Rx: Pets membership information. Along with membership in Rx: Pets we will invite you to also attend our next workshop.
