Our facilities are looking toward to reopening for in person dog-team visiting with procedures to prevent COVID-19 infections. With regards to infection control and COVID-19 our volunteers always follow ATD procedures for a safe visit, CDC COVID-19 state and local rules and guidelines as well as each facility's policies and procedures. Per the government’s extension of the distancing guidelines until 4/30/20, there will be no scheduled therapy dog visits for our group. We’ll revisit the guidelines in about a month. Stay safe out here! Diana Stockwell

As you know from governmental sources that there have been many directives issued to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Though the risk is low in Redding at this time, I am happy to see that proactive steps are being taken. ATD is not suspending visits. We want all members to follow the procedures put forth by the facilities. Check with the facilities in your area to see if they are suspending visits prior to your scheduled date and time. ATD is simply advising members to thoroughly wash their hands with soap regularly for at least 20 seconds, utilize hand sanitizers and cough and sneeze into a Kleenex that can be disposed of.
