The Board has been very busy the last few months. But, we aren’t “going it” alone. We have had lots of help from many volunteers. Marilyn Stephens has stepped up and agreed to coordinate coaching as needed. Kate Ermenc has been coordinating Evaluations and helped with training coaches and new evaluators. Diana Stockwell has helped with streamlining and updating Workshops and will be one of our instructors in the Fall. Many more Rx: Pets Visiting Team members have volunteered to help with coaching, evaluations, and special events. We are all lucky to have so many people to take the time and effort to help this organization run smoothly.
Listed below is a summary of some of our accomplishments and plans for 2015.
We completed 2 spring evaluations (April/May). All of the evaluation materials have been updated and processed.
We now have 3 fully equipped evaluation boxes. This means we can have as many as 3 evaluations going on at the same time.
We have been hard at work tying to find just the right “home” for our evaluations.
We have two additional evaluators coming on board by the end of October.
We have scheduled a fall evaluation for September 26th.
We conducted two coaching sessions in April.
We have coaching sessions scheduled for September 19th.
We have scheduled the fall Workshop for September 12th.
Workshop materials have been revised and updated.
Three Instructors will teach the September class; Pam Valentine, Beverly Nelson, and Diana Stockwell.
We had a doggone good time at our Dog Days Of Spring Fun Day .
Shasta College Cram Week was a big hit, as usual. The Vice President made an appearance and thanked us profusely for coming.
All binders have been updated and your visits have been/and will continue to be calculated for the 12 Visits Pinning Ceremony in January. Make certain you get your 12 visits this year….this can be 10 facilities and 2 events…or 12 facilities. We want you to get your additional year rocker added to your pin. Or if you don’t yet have a pin and year rocker…this is the year.
The board has procured a storage shed and all supplies are in one location.
All paperwork has been reviewed, outdated paperwork shredded, new forms created.
The website has been revamped and you can now ask questions of the board members by simply clicking on the CONTACT tab at the top of the website.
Diana’s visiting site list can now be found at our website (www.prescriptionpets.org).
There is a calendar at website as well.
A new member contact list has been completed and has gone out to all members.
All policies (insurance, etc. etc.) have been reviewed, renewed, and put into practice.
We still have a need for a Contact Person at several facilities including; Lavender Hills Assisted Living, Shasta Head Start, Sierra Oaks, Shasta Regional Medical Center, and Brentwood Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Red Bluff. If you are willing and able to help, please contact Margy Anderson.
